Intel Releases Threading Building Blocks 2.0 as Open Source

Intel has released Threading Building Block, a C++ library for building scalable threaded applications, as open source. The libraries are cross-platform and Intel has a history of producing quality software in this domain. The product announcement is available at

Presentation by Miron Livny to SciDAC 2007

There's an interesting presentation by Miron Livny, head of the Condor project at UW-Madison and Principal Investigator of the Open Science Grid project. In it, Miron points out the notion of "grids of grids" and regional grids like the one SeWHiP is promoting and proposing. Also of note is mention of the LIGO project, in which UW-Milwaukee is one of the major participants.
